Mollie noticed something new in the pasture—a little white lamb with big eyes and trembling knees. The lamb stood alone, nibbling grass and glancing nervously at the others.
Mollie trotted over gently. “Hi, I’m Mollie. What’s your name?”
“I’m Lila,” the lamb whispered.
“Do you want to play?”
Lila shook her head. “I’m too shy.”
Mollie smiled. “That’s okay. Let’s just walk together.”
They walked through the field, stopping to sniff flowers and watch butterflies. Slowly, Lila’s tail gave a tiny wag.
Mollie saw Benny the duckling waddling nearby. “Benny, meet Lila!”
Benny chirped, and Lila gave a shy smile. Soon, the piglets rolled over, curious too. By the end of the afternoon, Lila was bleating with laughter as they played tag.
That night, Lila curled up beside Mollie. “Thank you,” she said. “I didn’t think I could make friends.”
“You just needed someone to walk with you,” Mollie said.
Moral: Sometimes, all it takes is one friend to help you feel brave.
